Couch on Blocks

I think I’m officially white trash now. I don’t have any cars on blocks in the front yard. I do have a couch on blocks in my living room however.
The other day I had some friends over. There was a cracking, groaning sound and my couch collapsed like the World Trade Centers. I can’t prove it was the CIA, but what are the odds that all four legs would collapse at the same time, right? Could have been the Israeli Mossad I suppose.
Anyway, a little Yankee ingenuity later and I had a couple cinder blocks from the garage underneath it.They worked well. If anything it sat a bit higher so was more comfortable. Normally the couch is pretty low to the floor.
So here’s my dilemma. Do I get a new couch? Or leave it as is?
Then I have to buy a new couch, get rid of the old one, and of course someone is going to complain about it not matching the tacky 70s furniture theme…. so much hassle.
My friends who usually sit on that couch are pretty big guys. They are not by any means petite. This is a lot more “robust” than the other couches, and as I said it sits HIGHER so being taller guys it’s easier for them to sit on.
I’m tempted to just leave it.
Anyone else been in this situation?
