Is the Super Bowl Super Secure?

Are we going overboard with the Super Bowl this year? It’s not even all that big according to polls. A large number of people have said they don’t even plan on watching it. Of course the NFL predicts “record number of viewers” (especially after they trumped up the whole “Inflate Gate” scandal.)

However, it gets a big “meh” from lots of folks this year.

So what is with all the MASSIVE SECURITY?

And… I think inappropriate security.

I get the locals getting involved.

Local city cops from Phoenix. Okay.

Arizona State Police? Sure.

Private security from the NFL? Okay.

But Border Patrol?

Homeland Security “Police”?

Whoever these commando guys are?

The US Air Force?

(well Air National Guard anyway)

I understand it’s the Super Bowl.

We’ve even had movies where the Super Bowl was hit by terrorists.

However, when is enough enough? Do we REALLY need automatic weapons and fighter jets? Is this the future permanently? Do we ever get to go back to the old fashioned ways of freedom and reason?
