Mysterious “Planet X” May Lurk Out Past Pluto on the Edge of our Solar System
If there is or not a planet out there, it won’t be anything like Earth.
Pluto is at its closest 29.7 AU away from the Sun and that far away it’s -229 degrees Celsius. That’s friggin’ cold. So cold in fact that the atmosphere is FROZEN SOLID.
Yeah, that’s cold.
Now imagine something 250 AU out there. It would be about as cold as it’s possible for a planet to get. Big sure, but what good is it?
Unless maybe there’s some thermal vents underground. Or maybe it’ll have a massive ocean like Saturn’s moon Encyladus. (We think.)
