Which is it folks?

This is your chance to vote.

What do you call a carbonated flavored soft drink that comes in a can?

I’m curious as to what the consensus is.

Around here it’s “Pop.” Even the stores sell it as such.

In the city it’s generally “Soda.”

Other places I’ve seen “Cola.”

Down South it’s often just “Coke”, even if that’s not the name brand. I guess that’s because Coca-Cola is headquartered in Georgia. Then again, Pepsi is headquartered here in New York but we don’t call everything “Pepsi” by default.

We don’t call it “Soda” because that leads to confusion with Baking Soda

or Club Soda.

Bottom line:

What is it called where you live? And why?
