President Requests 1,500 more Troops for Iraq
He assures us they’ll just be for “guard duty and training Iraqis.”
Hmmm. Kinda reminded me of this headline from a few years ago.
Let’s hope using the same “piecemeal” strategy as Vietnam won’t lead to the same results as Vietnam.

How many are there already. Bet it’s more than they say. We lost a couple troops, I saw a report that two were killed (non-combat) of course.

So far on the ground in Iraq (that we admit to) is about half that. So, in effect we’re doubling our “footprint.” That of course doesn’t cover the troops in Kuwait, Jordan, Turkey, etc… or offshore on ships… or in planes flying air cover.
