Feminism Redundant

Ah, false choices. Ya know I love ’em. There’s just no right answer when the question is dishonest.

I’ve been attacked quite a lot lately for saying that I don’t see the point of feminism. The generous ones say I “just don’t understand as a man.”

(Said kinda creepily by other men at times…)

The less kind just call me a “misogynist sexist.”

(Is there another kind of misogynist?)

This is odd because I’m a very strong supporter of EQUALITY. I’m one of the biggest supporters of equality for everyone you’ll find. The only thing I’m better at than equality is modesty.

I just don’t see why I need to be for “feminism” if I’m already for “equality.” I know I don’t have a vagina, but I can read a dictionary. Can someone more maternally endowed explain this to me without the eye rolling and huffy sighs please?

“Feminism”

1. The advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.

Okay…. and how is that not equality? What part of that is NOT covered under “everyone should be treated equally?” Anyone?

Buehler?

Buehler?

Buehler?

The ONLY difference I can see is that “feminism” implies a bias towards only seeing how WOMEN need assistance gaining equality. Screw everyone else. That doesn’t seem very fair.

The same is true of “Gay Rights” or “Hispanic Rights.” All you’re doing by putting anything before “Rights” or “Equality” is dividing people into small, detached groups.

Isn’t equality… TRUE equality about bringing people together? About finding common ground and treating everyone the SAME, not everyone DIFFERENTLY? Aren’t you basically encouraging people to see DIFFERENCES and essentially CREATE INEQUALITY?

We don’t say “Equal rights for everyone… and black people.” Or gay people. Or women. Or men. That’s guaranteed to single out those involved and bring attention to how they are different, not how we are all the same.

There’s a joke about how the Taliban (now it would be ISIS) went on television, beheading a Jew, a Christian, a Buddhist and a Kitten. Everyone instantly asks “Why a kitten?” The rest are equal. The one is different to the detriment of the others.

What about “Equal Rights for Whites?” Oh, that’s RACIST! Why is that? Because it emphasizes WHITE as a distinct group to be promoted? Exactly.

That is what is wrong with “feminism.” Or for that matter any other “ism” that separates people into unequal groups. What if we demanded that everyone follow “Andronism?” We don’t even use the word for “Men’s Rights.”

Why not? If it truly is about EQUALITY, then any one works, right? Saying we’re for “men’s rights on the grounds of political, social and economic equality to women” that would be the same thing wouldn’t it?

Then come the charges of “women hating.” Is it “man hating” if everyone doesn’t follow Andronism? Why do I have to be for “women’s rights” but women don’t have to be for “men’s rights?”

Cut the bullshit. Rights for EVERYONE trumps rights for any one group. It INCLUDES all of those other rights groups. I don’t need to be for YOUR rights or HIS rights or HER rights. I’m for EVERYONE’S rights.

Everyone needs to follow me and Equal Rights… or else you are a “person hater.” If you’re for ONE group’s rights you inherently put them above the rights of others. That makes you a hater.

Embrace equal rights for everyone.

There, that problem’s solved.

Hell, even Hillary gets it…I think.

And while I’m at it, I’ll solve that whole “my selfie is better than your selfie” contest.

To quote Charlie Sheen.

“Boom. Winning.”

He’s ALMOST as awesomely modest as I am.
