Should we stop making pennies?

When I clean out a rental property I usually find about 25- 50 cents lying around. On the floor, behind leftover furniture, in the basement, on shelves, in drawers, etc. You would begrudge me that little bit? Just kidding! Not about finding change, but get rid of the penny, round up or down.

I wonder how other countries manage it. Anyone from Canada for instance who could enlighten us on how it has worked for them?
