When is the truth BAD for democracy? Sure it’s a risk. For him. Unpopular Governors always run a risk of people asking uncomfortable questions about bad policies and scandals being investigates.
He has both in spades.
So, it makes sense that he wouldn’t want to debate. I think he’s a bit confused though between what’s good for HIM and what’s good for DEMOCRACY. That’s alright. The two don’t really have a close relationship so he may be confused.
Free speech and public debate are the cornerstones of Democracy. Especially in a Republic like ours is. That’s like saying “Sometimes sunshine is bad for crops so all farms should be underground.”
Yet people keep lapping it up like curdled milk. Who likes curdled milk? Zombie cats. That’s who.
And that’s what people are… zombies.
